Frequently Asked Questions about Counseling

I am interested in individual therapy. How long is each session? And how much does counseling cost?

My fee is $200 for a 50 minute session. I accept all major debit/credit, FSA and HSA cards.

I am interested in coming to the support group. How much does it cost to attend? And how often does it meet?

We meet once a month, on the first Thursday of each month. The fee for each group is $25 per session, and payment is collected via PayPal afterwards.

My fertility clinic referred me to you for an Intended Parent consultation but I don’t see it listed on your website. Do you offer it and how much does it cost?

Yes, I have been trained by American Society for Reproductive Medicine to complete Intended Parent and Donor Recipient consultations. My fee for the service (including writing and sending the letter to your clinic) is $300.

Do you accept my insurance?

I am an out of Network provider. I can provide you a receipt each session which you can then submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

How often will we meet?

Weekly. I have found that my clients improve faster and obtain the results they are seeking by meeting on a weekly basis. Many clients chose to decrease session frequency after 1-2 months in treatment.

How is psychotherapy different than venting with my friends?

Good friendships are invaluable but at times we need professional support. I am an unbiased ally who can give you somewhere to talk openly about your struggles. You don’t have to “take care” of me in our sessions.

What if I need to cancel a session?

I have a 24 hour cancelation policy. If you are unable to cancel an appointment within 24 hours of our scheduled appointment, then your credit card on file will be charged the full session fee.
